Stephen kings christine5/19/2023 ![]() Arnie begins to restore Christine at a local repair shop and junkyard, Darnell's Autobody, but as he spends more of his time working on the car, he discards his glasses, dresses more like a 1950s greaser and develops an arrogant personality. Arnie's life begins to change when he buys a used, badly battered red-and-white 1958 Plymouth Fury named "Christine," in need of extensive repairs. Arnold "Arnie" Cunningham (Keith Gordon) is an awkward, unpopular teen with only one friend, Dennis Guilder (John Stockwell). The movie then cuts to 1978, where Arnold Cunningham is introduced. When he opens the door, he sees the employee's lifeless body fall out of it. Meanwhile, the manager sees the red Plymouth's headlights on and the radio playing. Eventually, the factory bell rings and the employees leave. During this, he drops cigar ashes on the seat. Later, another employee takes a seat inside the car and turns on the radio, which plays "Not Fade Away" by Buddy Holly. ![]() When one guy opens the hood, it closes by itself, injuring the guy's hand. Of all the white cars on the assembly line, only one is colored red. ![]() The movie opens in a car factory in Detroit in the year 1957, where a line of brand-new Plymouth Furys are shown on the assembly line. ![]()
